George Moraitis is a partner with the law firm of Moraitis, Karney, Moraitis, & Quailey where he practices primarily in the areas of real estate, probate, and estate planning. George was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale and is a graduate of Fort Lauderdale High School, the United States Naval Academy, and the University of Florida College of Law.
George served as a Submarine Officer in the United States Navy where he qualified as a Submarine Warfare Officer and as a Naval Nuclear Propulsion Engineer. After serving seven years on active duty, George transitioned to the Navy Reserve in 1999, continuing to serve with honor. George was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander while in the Navy Reserve and retired in 2012.
George has been married to Heather Thompson Moraitis for 30 years, and they are active members of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church where George serves as an Elder. They have two daughters, Alexis and Catherine, who both graduated from Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale.
George served as State Representative for the northeast portion of Broward County and southeast Palm Beach County in the legislature from 2010 until 2018. George also served as the Chairman of the Broward Republican Party from 2017-2020.
